ABOUT US
The Inklings Review is an online publication of the Inklings Bookshop in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The mission of the review is the same as that of the bookshop: to foster the reading of good books, especially those promoting the permanent things of the classical Christian tradition. Most issues will contain three recurring sections:
- C.S. Lewis, the Inklings, and Others - reviews of books by Lewis, the Inklings, and other writers associated with Lewis.
- Christian Life - reviews of books pertaining to key aspects of the Christian life.
- Passages, Preaching, Poems, and Prayers - Scripture passages, sermon excerpts, poems and prayers related to the season of the Christian year.
In addition to these regular features, we plan to publish reviews of books in a variety of subject areas, including theology, literature, history, and education. We hope that we can attract a growing number of educators, pastors, and laypersons who will contribute reviews at least once or twice a year. (If interested, see the Contact Us page.)
In reviews of books related to the Christian faith, we will strive to be eclectic and ecumenical within the bounds of orthodoxy defined in the Apostles' and Nicene creeds. Given this broad goal, we realize that our readers, and we ourselves, will seldom agree completely with the books we review, but we hope to promote works that many will find intellectually stimulating and spiritually edifying and that always honor the Author and Finisher of the Faith.
