From the Editor...

We are happy to bring you Issue 2 of the newsletter of Inklings Bookshop.

My daughter, Elizabeth Mickle, offers a review of a wonderful novel, Gilead, by Marilynn Robinson.

Scriba Nonnumquam Diligens, our sometimes diligent scribe, reviews a few books related directly to the Ascension and indirectly to Pentecost.

We would encourage you to pass the newsletter on to friends you think would be interested. We are not asking you to spam your mailing list, but sending the newsletter to a select few that you feel sure would be interested would be in order. Ask them to reply to inklings@ntelos.net if they wish to be on the regular distribution list.

Please note that we are continuing the 20% coupon offer for another month. Persons placing an order through the website www.inklingsbooks.com, can receive a discount of 20% when purchasing $30.00 or more. Use coupon code ApN1 at check out.

Perhaps you would like to combine your summer vacation with a week of studying C. S. Lewis. You might consider one of the C. S. Lewis Foundation’s Summer Seminars. This year they offer a week in Oxford, and also a week at Williams College in Massachusetts. Details are at www.cslewis.org.

Though it may be too late for you to attend this year, you should be aware of Taylor University’s C. S. Lewis and Friends Colloquium. This is the fifth event sponsored by Taylor, and is held every other year at their campus in Upland Indiana. This year Inklings Bookshop will provide the conference book table for this event, the third time we have done so. More information at www.taylor.edu/cslewis.

On that note, if your organization needs a book table for a special event, we might be able to help you. Each year, Inklings Bookshop provides book tables for several conferences and special events. We would be happy to consider working with you, your church or other organization.

We hope you enjoy the newsletter. Please let us hear your comments and suggestions.

Under the mercy,

Edward Y. Hopkins
